My recent trip to Srinagar in February 2023 with my wife was one of the most memorable experiences we have ever had. We stayed in a cozy cottage named Dove, which was an absolute delight. The cottage was home to a friendly English Cocker Spaniel and two Persian cats, who made our stay even more special. The homemade food served at this cottage was simply amazing, and we were treated to some of the most delicious meals we have ever tasted.
As we arrived at the end of February, we noticed that all the trees were bare as they had shed their leaves. However, this did not take away from the beauty of the place. In fact, it added to the charm of the place, making it feel like a winter wonderland. We went on a day trip to Gulmarg and Pahalgam, which was an incredible experience. The snow-covered landscape, tall Deodar trees, and valleys were mesmerizing.
One of the highlights of our trip was the Dal Lake ride. The ride took us through some of the most breathtaking scenery we have ever seen. The serene waters of the lake, the snow-covered mountains in the distance, and the colorful houseboats made for a truly unforgettable experience. We also visited the Sunday market, where we picked up some beautiful bags for our friends and relatives.
Another cafe we visited was Chai Jaai. We were impressed by the decor and the wide variety of beverages and food available. As we gazed at the Jhelum river flowing by, we savored a pot of fragrant Kahwa tea along with Sheermal and Roath, reveling in the beautiful surroundings.
Although the Chinar trees were bare, it was still a beautiful sight to behold. As I gazed at the delicate buds on the Magnolia trees, I was reminded of the cyclical nature of life and the promise of new beginnings that comes with the approaching spring season. My heart's desire is to witness the breathtaking landscapes of Kashmir in all its glory - from the vibrant blooms of spring and summer to the golden hues of fall, as well as the bare beauty of winter. I yearn to see the Chinar leaves in their full splendor during autumn and witness the wonders of nature in every season.
Our trip to Srinagar in February 2023 was an unforgettable experience. The cozy cottage, Dove, with its friendly pets and homemade food, made us feel right at home. The day trip to Gulmarg and Pahalgam and the Dal Lake ride were some of the highlights of our trip. We look forward to coming back to Kashmir to experience its beauty in different seasons.
